The Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali “E. Caffi” of Bergamo organizes field works, preparation of fossils and exhibitions. The Paleontological Park of Cene preserves the fossiliferous locality and it carries out didactic activities and cultural programs.

There are several activities aimed to make children know and understand the scientific collections and the territory: guided tours, laboratories to observe and touch the specimens, out-door activities, as well as classroom practices.

During the Mesozoic, reptiles colonized even the sky: the Pterosauria are extinct flying reptiles. Fossil specimens belonging to this group have been found in the Bergamo area and our fossiliferous localities are famous all over the world.

At the Paleontological Park of Cene, following the naturalistic path, you will have the opportunity to walk in the open air and see the animals, plants, and rocks of one of the most important fossiliferous locality in Italy.

The Holotypes are the specimens representing one species.
